If I had the chance, I'd tell her:

If I had the chance, I'd tell her:

"Hey there Sweetheart, I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I miss you, how much I love you and Happy 15th Birthday Princess!"

I think about her always, especially during the summer months because our birthdays are only a month apart. I remember her as such a sweet, smart, beautiful little girl, and now she's a sweet, smart, beautiful young woman. I hope she enjoyed her freshman year, it gets better this next year.

I want her to know that she is always in my thoughts, prayers and in my heart. I'm so sorry for so very much that has happened, and for what she's had to endure. I wish I could tell her: "Sweetheart, I won't be gone forever and when I do get out, I am determined to do everything I can to be worthy of being in your life again." I pray that she'll be willing to give me the chance. She and I were once so close, such good buddies, and I'm so terribly sorry I messed that up. If I'm given the chance again to be in her life, I will do everything I can to try to make everything right again. I love her and miss her so much, I hope she still remembers me.

I'd tell her to "Stay strong, Honey, keep up the good work in school, and say your prayers, Princess, that's very important. Good luck to you this school year. You're always in my thoughts, and please remember that your Daddy loves you very much. Happy Birthday Pretty Girl! Love you always, Your Dad"

Hey there Sweetheart

If I could talk with my daughter, I would tell her that I miss her so much, I just want her to know that I am always thinking about her and love her so very much. Each day that goes by brings me one day closer to getting out of this place, and putting my life back together so that someday I can be a part of her life again.

I know a lot of time has passed since we've been together and she's had to learn to live without me. I am so terribly sorry for that. So much time has passed since we've been together that it wouldn't surprise me if she found it difficult to remember very much of me at all. I'm terribly sorry for that. What keeps me going is my faith in the strong, loving foundataion of our relationship that was set during the years we were together. I pray that when she does try to think of me, that she does remember the feelings of how close we were and how much I love her.

I told her then that it was forever and I still mean that. She is always on my mind. She is my "Princess".

Once I am able, I will do everything I possibly can to rebuild what she and I once had. I keep faith, and I hope she does as well, that we can be that close again.

She won't have to be without her Dad for too much longer.

I hope she had a fun and enjoyable Freshman year! I hope it wasn't so bad. It only gets better from here, so I hope she enjoys her summer vacation and has a great next year!

I would tell her to "Keep up all the good work with your schoolwork, your sports, your music, and all else, honey. You're so wonderful, you make me so proud of you."

If I could, I would like to tell her: "Take Care Princess, please always know that I love you so very much, I'm always thinking of you, and we'll be in each other's life again someday soon."

I love her so much,
"Dad"

A Poem, Written November 7 2007

If I had known, during our last time together, that it would be this long before I'd see you again...

I would have held my kiss to your cheek, a moment longer.
I would have held your hand, and not let go.
I would have run my fingers through your hair, one more time.
I would have squeezed you in my arms, a little tighter.
I would have taken in one last breath of the smell of your shampoo.
I woul have softly touched your cheek with the back of my fingers.
I would have quietly whispered "I love you" in your ear, close enough for you to feel the butterfly kisses of my lashes.
I would have smiled my best, sneaky devilish smile, the one that would always make you smile and giggle.
I would have then taken a snapshot in my mind's eye of that moment, and kept that picture safely tucked away, next to my heart, for times like this to look at when I miss you so very much.

I won't miss my next chance at these things, and oh how I so look forward to them. Love Forever.

If I could talk to my daughter...

If I could talk to my daughter, I'd tell her how I miss and love her very much. As always, I'm thinking about her very much, especially now as we go into the holidays. I like to think about and replay in my mind lots of different holiday memories we spent together. I hope she is enjoying her freshman year of high school, and that it is going ok for her. I'd tell her to "Keep up the good work Sweetheart." and that I'm really very proud of her. I'd tell her to please always remember that even though it may not always seem like it, it is very important to always do her best in school, and all her hard work and effort will be worth it in the long run.

If I could, I'd let her know to please know that she has lots of family members on my side of the family who love her, miss her very much and would help her any way they could if she ever needed help. I would tell her that if there ever was an emergency and she needed help of any kind, that she should please remember she could always contact her Aunt Ceci in Mesquite, TX.

I wish I could let her know that she has family that all miss and love her very, very much and that we all are always thinking of her. I would let her know that we won't be separated forever. I would promise her that when I get out, I'll make things better so I can be in her life again. I hope she still wants me in her life. I believe she does. I would tell her that I'm so sorry for what she's had to go through. I know she still remembers how happy we were together when she was younger. I would tell her, "Sweetheart, it will be like that again."

I would want her to know that she's on my mind constantly, and in my prayers.

I would tell her, "I love you more than anything Honey, and I miss you more than words can say."

She gave me very good advice years ago when she was younger. She said for me "not to think of the bad stuff". I've tried to follow that good advice by thinking about lots of the good memories I have of her and I together. I hope she still thinks of them too. I would tell her that we will have more wonderful times in the future.

I still am and will always be her D-A-D, and she's still my little girl.

I would tell her to "Stay Sweet Honey, Stay Strong. I'll be there you again soon Princess."

I love you more...

Your D-A-D

P.S. Happy Holidays!

If I had the chance...

If I had the chance to talk to my daughter again, this is what I'd say:

I'd tell her how much I dearly love her and that I miss her more than words can say. That I am so terribly sorry for what has happened, and why we haven't been able to be together.

I promise her that when I get out, I will make things better like they used to be. I will spend the rest of my days making up to her for what all she has had to go through since we've been apart.

I'd want her to know that I have thought about her constantly, every single day, since the last time I've seen her. What has kept me going has been my memories of her and I together when she was younger, and the chance for us to be together and make new memories again someday.

I would ask her not to listen to or believe all the terrible things she has heard about me, but to trust in what she remembers of us together and what she feels in her heart: and to not let anyone change that. Remember the times we spent together, like the Chicago concert, when she got her guitar pick from the bass player. Or how much fun we used to have playing with and chasing around those nutty kittens of hers. Remember our daddy-daughter dates we would have on my days off, when I'd come have lunch with her at school, then pick her up afterward and go get ice cream and go to the park.

Remember how close we were, and how quickly she would always fall asleep in my arms, and how much she enjoyed me scratching her back and rubbing her feet.

I'd want her to know that I've never forgotten about her or abandoned her.

I would ask her to stay strong, keep smiling and like she told me years ago "not to think about the bad stuff".

To keep doing good in school, church and music, and that I am so proud of her for her hard work and being awarded "Student of the Year!".

I'd want her to always remember that I love her more than anything in this world, that I miss her so very much and that I am always thinking of her.

I'd ask her to never forget how close we were, the strong bond we had together, and to know it can and will be that way again.

Always remember that she still is, and always weill be my little girl, and I will always be her "Dee, Aye, Dee": nobody can change that.

Remember to always say her prayers; keep her faith and to stick to her nature by staying sweet, especially when those around her are sour.

I promise to make things better, and to be in her life again as soon as I can.

Remember how she felt when we were together when she was little. I still love her like that, just hang in there Sweetheart, your daddy is coming, and we will be happy again together, someday soon!

I Love You More

-Yes Way!
